Solar Powered Mouse!!!

Ya u heard it right...Solo Mio is the first solar powered mouse. Currently it is being tested by the Delft University of Technology. Seems that it is gonna save lot of power. Personally i feel that electonic producing companies should look this particular aspect of saving power for the future.Share your thoughts on this.

An environment friendly MP3 player

Trevor G. Baylis, is back with a bang, with his wonderful and successful invention of the windup Radio called the Free Play windup radio. What is the surprise this time? Well! its a music player again and its an MP3 player called the Eco Media Player which runs on the wind up technology of Trevor.

The player is capable of staying alive for about 40 mins on a minute's wind. The features on the Eco Media Player is no different from other Mp3 players, you can enjoy your favorite music, watch videos and also store files on the device. The player has an alternate power storage medium which is a Lithium Ion battery which is charged through a USB power source and this accounts to 20 hours of music on the player.

I guess most of the mobile companies are coming out with their creative designs which brings in more competition which is healthy and also the user has a variety to choose from as long as these concept phones comes into actual production. Television broadcasting technology goes way back in the 1920s and we have come a long way now with more digital and High Definition video broadcast through wire and air. IPHONE keyboard technology under scanner!

Apple under fire with another suit and this time its not the battery issue but its keyboard. SP Technologies sued Apple over its touchscreen keyboard and claims to holding a patent of the digital keyboard technology. Let us see where this suit takes SPT and Apple.

Will IPHONE retail in India?

With IPhone waves going around the world and people all lined up with $$$ bills in their pockets to grab an IPhone, we in India just get to droll over photographs of the hardware. What would we do back here? Make that expensive International call to the US reach ou to your friends, families and whoever to make that buy. For people who are planning to do this or have already done it, are you sure this phone will work in India? I really doubt as much as you all do.
Just walk around your city's grey market area chanting the sacred word IPHONE! IPHONE! and you will see a couple of guys rushing towards you assuring you a guaranteed and working IPhone on an Indian mobile phone network. There are people who give false promises of unlocking the phone for Rs.500 in 2 days. There are no such hacking or unlocking software to make the phone work in India. You will be even more surprised to hear when some of them believe that the IPhone's OS is driven using the Symbian and its easy to crack.

So wait up until next year Wipro and HCL are gearing up to retail these phones and at I hope at an affordable price. Until then mop the drool :)

Search Engine with a difference!

With Google making it big in the search engine space for more than 5 years now. Many technocrats are trying their best to make a difference in the same space which Google dominates now. And one of them is Vivismo.com.

Its interesting to see categorized and clustered results for a given search keyword. I search for the keyword Google on Vivismo and in return a well laid out and categorized results is displayed as shown on the screenshot below. This helps the user avoid dropping in to any unknown or irrelevant site. I think its very cool.


The pain area that I see here is information overload for the user. To many options will only let the user to wander and not get to the target. Well! can't get everything you want in a bottle, can you :)

The other search engine that I looked upon is Snap.com, its like any other regular search engine with a little difference. The results are shown in farmesets on the left and the screenshot of the website onthe right pane of the frame.

Here as you scroll the search results is updated on the fly.

Flock - the social web browser

With many file sharing tools/websites, communities/forums and Blogs popping up all over the web, here is another new app which made its entry to make information sharing easy over the web.
Its a browser called Flock - the social web browser, here the user can connect to other users, share files and so on. The interesting feature of this browser is the drag and drop feature.

Personally I like FireFox better and it wont be too long with Fire Fox's next browser release featuring the same features integrated to it.
